Our agency provides day support, employment opportunities and 24-hour residential care for adults (18 years and older) with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We currently operate out of Yamhill, Polk and Marion County and we are rapidly expanding as our client list for services continues to grow. We are seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as Direct Support Professionals. As a Direct Support Professional, you will provide support and assistance to individuals with developmental disabilities or autism in a residential or community-based setting.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities or autism
- Assist with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication administration
- Implement individualized care plans and behavior support plans
- Promote independence and community integration for individuals
- Provide transportation to appointments, activities, and outings
- Document and maintain accurate records of services provided
- Collaborate with a team of professionals to ensure the highest quality of care
Experience:
To be successful in this role, you should have the following experience and qualifications:
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism
- Knowledge of medication administration and first aid procedures
- Familiarity with senior care or patient care systems is a plus
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as needed
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
