Job Description:
As our Human Resources Specialist, you will be responsible for overseeing all HR functions within the company. This includes managing recruitment efforts, phone screening candidates, conducting interviews, employee relations, performance management, and ensuring HR compliance. You will be integral in fostering a positive company culture and ensuring our team of roofers and office staff are supported, engaged, and aligned with our company’s goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Recruitment & Onboarding: Manage the full-cycle recruitment process, from creating and managing job postings to screening resumes, scheduling phone interviews, and conducting in-person or virtual interviews with candidates.
- Hiring Ads: Develop and place engaging hiring ads across multiple platforms, including job boards, social media, and industry-specific sites to attract top talent.
- Phone Screening & Interviews: Conduct initial phone screenings to evaluate candidates' qualifications and suitability for the role. Lead in-person or virtual interviews, assessing both technical and cultural fit for the company.
- Employee Relations: Serve as a point of contact for employees regarding HR concerns, addressing questions and resolving conflicts in a fair and timely manner.
- Compliance & Policies: Ensure the company is compliant with all federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations. Regularly update and enforce company policies.
- Performance Management: Assist in setting performance goals, conducting performance reviews, and providing feedback and coaching to employees.
- Training & Development: Implement training programs to improve employee skills, increase safety awareness, and support career growth.
- Benefits & Compensation: Oversee employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other perks. Assist with payroll administration as needed.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in Human Resources, preferably within a construction or trades industry.
- Hands-on experience managing job postings, phone screenings, and conducting interviews.
- Strong knowledge of HR laws, policies, and best practices.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Experience with HR software and tools is a plus.
- A degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
