What are the responsibilities and job description for the General Laborer position at B.A. Sunderlin Bellfoundry?
Traditional foundry looking for motivated individuals with shop experience looking to learn a new trade in the industry.
As our business continues to grow, so does our general labor position. In addition to shop work, travel has become necessary for bell installation and maintenance projects around the country. About 25% of the General Laborer’s time will be spent with a specialized team on the road with trip durations lasting from two days to two weeks or more at a time. Travel is done in company vehicles, equipment is provided, travel expenses and meals are covered. Travel plans are communicated two days to two weeks in advance and notice will be provided when travel plans are made. When not on the road, the general labor tasks include assisting the shop in many different roles to help manage and expedite jobs. Molding and assisting with pouring, shop prep, welding, light machining, and woodworking are common. Must be able to work in hot conditions, capable of lifting fifty pounds, and be able to work both individually and within a team environment.
