Job Summary:
B&A is looking for a Business process Matter Specialist to join a contract with a federal government client in support of an important mission. The SME will work closely with stakeholders, project teams, and leadership to identify inefficiencies, develop process improvements, and ensure that best practices are integrated into the organization's operations. This role requires in-depth knowledge of business processes within [industry/sector] and a proven ability to implement change successfully.
Responsibilities
- Assess current business processes to identify gaps, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize workflows and align processes with organizational goals.
- Leverage process modeling tools to document and communicate changes.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including operations, IT, and finance, to align business processes with organizational objectives.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for process-related inquiries and initiatives.
- Provide deep expertise in specific business processes, tools, and methodologies relevant to the organization.
- Offer guidance on industry best practices, standards, and compliance requirements.
- Develop change management strategies to support the successful implementation of new processes.
- Train and support staff in adopting revised workflows and tools.
- Define key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure process success.
- Monitor and report on the effectiveness of process changes, recommending further improvements where needed.
Education and Experience
- Five (5) years working in Department of Defense (DoD) contracting as a GS-1102-12 or above, Contract Specialist, position or other substantially equivalent position that has yielded deep knowledge and understanding of the DoD contracting process and the critical relationship that the PIEE PMO has in the DoD Contracting and Procurement ecosystem.
Required Skills
- Relevant certification from a nationally recognized technical authority.
- Provides technical knowledge and analysis of highly specialized applications and operational environments, high-level functional systems analysis, design, integration, documentation, and implementation advice on exceptionally complex problems that need extensive knowledge of the subject matter for effective implementation.
- Participates as needed in all phases of software development with emphasis on the planning, analysis, testing, integration, documentation, and presentation phases.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in process improvement tools and software (e.g., Visio, ARIS, or similar).
Desired Skills
- Knowledge of methodologies like Six Sigma, Lean, BPMN, or other process optimization frameworks.
- Ability to articulate complex processes and solutions clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Skilled at delivering impactful presentations to stakeholders and executives.
- Six Sigma (Green/Black Belt), PMP, Business Process Management certifications, or equivalent.
