Field Superintendent / Operations Manager
A well-established company with over 20 years’ experience in the construction industry has an excellent opportunity for an exceptional field superintendent / operations manager. The ideal candidate should be a self-motivated individual, with a history of five plus (5 ) years’ experience managing construction projects to budgets and schedules. This position is responsible for field operations, with a clear understanding of expectations and communicating/managing crews to meet expectations. You will be supported by a highly competent staff while reporting directly to the owner. Our compensation structure includes a base salary plus an incentive structure to earn excess of $80,000 annually for top performing candidates. This position will work in the office and field as directed by the company.
Essential Functions:
- Field operations superintendent: manage crews at job sites and work hands on to meet project deadlines, train and develop crews to improve performance, inspect quality of work, inspect & maintain safety requirements, and recruit crews to meet workloads & schedules, etc.
- Coordinate, schedule, and call-in supplies/materials, and any other equipment or trades required at job sites.
- Key office management team member, to track and provide weekly metrics in sales, operations, and job costing.
- Verify clock shark hours by job are accurate for payroll processing.
- Collaborate with management to ensure the project job costing process and information is consistently accurate, manage projects to metrics & schedules to maximize profitability.
- Analyze and provide weekly reports such as: status of projects, job costing actuals to budgets, due dates & schedules, identify project risks and prepare plan of action when project issues arise.
- Provide accurate forecast of project expenses to manage project to financial budgets.
- Assist with estimating and bidding work to maximize sales opportunities and new markets.
- Assist with invoicing and following up on accounts receivable as needed.
- Excellent listener, very organized, and an eye for detail with a high rate of accuracy
- Utilize financial and production reports to manage projects, job costing, and schedules.
- Assist with developing and managing schedules, recruiting crews, and managing crews.
- Assist with the utilization of technology, computers, and software as needed.
- The company may add additional duties at any time as needed for business purposes.
Essential Requirements:
- Minimum of five plus (5 ) years of successful project management experience managing projects to the scope of work, job costing of project expenses to budgets, forecasting time to complete project vs the schedule, superintendent of field operations, etc.
- Proven understanding of project financials, P&Ls, and accurate forecasting of projects to budgets. 2-3 yrs of basic accounting experience are preferred.
- Strong understanding of estimating/bidding projects to maximize sales and upselling.
- Demonstrated ability to follow instructions, company policies, and improve standard operating processes to maximize the efficiency of the production workflow.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and communication skills both written and verbal.
- Proficient in understanding technology, utilizing Buildertrend, Clockshark, Quickbooks, Microsoft Office; Excel, Word, Powerpoint, etc.
- Excellent record of goal setting, judgement and decision making.
- 8 years of construction industry experience is preferred.
- Proven team player and ability to work independently to support company’s overall objectives, follow instructions and hold yourself accountable for results.
- Strong integrity, time management and organizational & planning skills
- An eye for detail, deadline-oriented, and a process-oriented team player is required.
- A Valid Driver License is required, and associate or college degree preferred.
