About The Role

The Civil Craftsman will perform the work associated with and including, but not limited to, the construction, modification, installation, maintenance, and refit of all surface and subsurface components, such as concrete, conduits, substation grounding, etc.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform installation of all civil fixtures
• Must be able to work independently and lead apprentices to complete tasks
• Follow the instructions of the foreman/leadman
• Perform duties from aerial lifts or work platforms

Key Qualifications

• Several years of Substation experience
• Must be able to read and understand technical information contained in manuals and blueprints
• Must possess a willingness to learn and accept more responsibility with experience
• Must be willing to work in the extremities of nature, i.e., extreme heat, rain, cold
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and management
• Current and Valid Driver's License, CDL-A required

Key Nice-To-Haves

• Technical degrees or higher
• Specialty skills ( welding, heavy equipment operation, crane operators - NCCCO )

Key Info

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.

The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move objects up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

This is a full-time position. There will be the availability and need for overtime work as scheduled. There may also be unpredictable hours associated with emergencies, (outages, storm recoveries, etc.)

This position is frequently required to travel outside of the immediate area of the home office. There will be frequent overnight requirements as the job sites require.
