Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Requisition, purchase, and control office supplies to ensure inventory levels are maintained at the most economical price point.
  • Requisition, purchase, and control of all factory and janitorial supplies to ensure inventory levels are maintained at the most economical price point.
  • Validate within 24 hours that suppliers have received B & B issued purchase order and document confirmation.
  • Maintain all assigned purchasing logs as required for B & B Manufacturing, Inc.
  • Compile requests for materials, prepare purchase orders, keep track of purchases and supplies, and handle inquiries about purchase orders.
  • Gather information and records to prepare purchase orders for procurement of materials and services.
  • Respond to sales and supplier inquiries about order status, changes, or cancellations.
  • Work with Inventory Control Coordinator to monitor inventory, perform buying duties when necessary, and contact suppliers to schedule or expedite deliveries.
  • Compare prices, specifications, and delivery dates to assist in determining the best bid, track the status of requisitions, and orders.
  • Attend meetings as determined by Purchasing Assistance and Manager when deemed necessary.
  • Communicate effectively with departmental supervision to enable proactive responses to suppliers and sales team.
  • Performance of special projects as required by B & B, suppliers, and customers.
  • Verify effective form and function for use as defined by B & B, its suppliers, and customers.
  • Any other task(s) assigned by management.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have :

  • Knowledgeable of various office clerical responsibilities
  • Ability to apply clerical knowledge to meet engineering and office requirements of B & B Manufacturing customers and suppliers.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, spreadsheets, scanning, e-mail and a variety of alternative software solution packages.
  • Accuracy in the processing of data and information, record keeping and tabulating.
  • Familiar with quality standard requirements and / or understand that standards requirements shall be followed.
  • High level of attention to detail as well as the ability to monitor and maintain computerized records related to purchasing activities.
  • Abilities

  • Observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining and entering accurate information in B&B ERP system.
  • Analyzing information and evaluation results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
  • Providing information to supervisors, co-workers via telephone, written form, e-mail or in person.
  • The ability to meet strict deadlines or be able to communicate those that cannot be met.
  • Must follow all safety procedures and policies as mandated by B&B.
