About the Position
This position will be responsible for carrying out the logistics of receiving, processing, and storing inventory in support of the United States Department of Agriculture Office (USDA). This is a full-time position located in Beltsville, MD.
Duties:
- Perform physical tasks to locate and move materials or merchandise.
- Manually load or unload trucks or other transport devices.
- Unpack shelving or place items in proper storage locations.
- Pick and pack orders for shipment.
- Label and/or prepare items for shipment and courier pickup.
- Transport goods by hand truck, cart, forklift, or wheelbarrow.
- Coordinate with personnel to determine the appropriate location of materials received or on hand.
- Receive products and check provided documentation for accuracy and completeness, coordinate approval of documentation with appropriate staff and stakeholders.
- Perform light refinishing and repair work as directed; work may include cleaning, polishing, or dusting activities, as well as minor repairs not requiring specialized experience.
Qualifications:
- MUST be able to pass and maintain a federal background check
- Fluency in written and spoken English
- Experience providing warehouse support, including the receiving, packing, unpacking, processing, storing, and managing of products
- Experience coordinating with staff and relevant stakeholders, including outside vendors to maintain and process equipment
- Forklift certification (Required)
- Ability to perform in a physically demanding setting; this may include the ability to walk long distances, stand for long periods of time, or lift items to ensure proper placement
- Valid US Driver’s License (Required)
