We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing/Logistics Coordinator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing the procurement process, ensuring that materials and supplies are acquired efficiently and effectively. This position requires strong organizational skills, a solid understanding of supply chain management, and the ability to negotiate contracts with vendors. The Purchasing Coordinator will work closely with various departments to support company needs and maintain optimal inventory levels.
Responsibilities
- Manage the procurement process from requisition to purchase order issuance, ensuring timely delivery of materials.
- Utilize ERP systems for inventory control and to track purchasing activities.
- Collaborate with internal teams to forecast material needs based on production schedules.
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers to secure favorable terms and pricing.
- Monitor supplier performance and maintain effective relationships to ensure quality and reliability.
- Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and evaluate their capabilities.
- Coordinate logistics for the delivery of materials, ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and inventory levels for reporting purposes.
Qualifications
- Experience in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience in procurement or purchasing roles, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in carrier software for domestic and foreign shipments
- Strong understanding of supply chain management principles, contract management, and negotiation techniques.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with vendors by email, phone and in person
- Knowledge of logistics processes and inventory control practices is a plus.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
