Position Overview:
We are actively looking for a dynamic and experienced Enrichment Sports Coach to become a valuable addition to our team, specifically on the east side of Seattle. The ideal candidate will have expertise in either flag football, basketball, or soccer and possess a strong background in both playing and coaching. The primary responsibility of the Enrichment Sports Coach will be to provide engaging and skill-building sports sessions for youth participants aged 6 to 11 years old.
Key Responsibilities:
Specialized Sports Instruction: Deliver high-quality coaching sessions in either flag football, basketball, or soccer, focusing on skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
Youth Sports Coaching: Leverage prior coaching experience to create a positive and inclusive learning environment for children aged 6 to 11 years old.
Participant Engagement: Galvanize and motivate a group of 10 to 25 participants during each one-hour session, ensuring an enjoyable and enriching experience for all.
Conflict Resolution: Demonstrate the ability to handle conflicts effectively and maintain a positive atmosphere within the group. Foster a supportive and respectful environment for participants.
Program Development: Contribute to the development of sports programs, including designing age-appropriate drills, activities, and games to enhance skill progression.
Inclusive Environment: Foster a fun and inclusive atmosphere that accommodates participants of all skill levels, encouraging a love for sports regardless of experience.
Logistical Responsibilities:
- Commute: Ability to commute to schools hosting the enrichment program in a timely manner.
- Locations: Kirkland, Redmond, Bothell, and other nearby areas.
- Session Duration: Responsible for staying for the entire duration of each session, typically no longer than 1 hour.
- Communication: Interact with PTSA members, chaperones, and parents, providing detailed information about the program.
Qualifications:
- Prior coaching experience in flag football, basketball, or soccer.
- Strong playing background in the chosen sport.
- Experience coaching youth sports, specifically with children aged 6 to 11 years old.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage and engage a group of 10 to 25 participants.
- Conflict resolution skills and the ability to maintain a positive and inclusive atmosphere.
- Enthusiastic and passionate about youth sports development.
License/Certification:
- Driver's License (Required)
- Relevant coaching certifications and First Aid/CPR certifications are highly desirable.
Job Types: Part-time, Contract, Temporary
Pay: $50.00 - $75.00 per hour
