Duties
As a Personal Care Assistant, your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Providing support for individuals with disabilities, ensuring their comfort and safety at all times.
- Monitoring and recording vital signs as needed, including blood pressure and pulse rates.
- Administering medications according to prescribed schedules and ensuring proper documentation of medication administration.
- Offering catheter care and other personal hygiene assistance as required.
- Engaging clients in social activities to promote mental well-being and companionship.
- Collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient service in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Maintaining a clean and safe environment for clients by following health and safety protocols.
Experience
Candidates should possess the following experience or skills:
- Previous experience in assisted living or similar healthcare settings is preferred.
- Familiarity with working with individuals who have disabilities or require critical care support.
- Knowledge of vital sign monitoring techniques and medication administration procedures.
- Experience in medical office environments is a plus, particularly in outpatient care settings.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
- A compassionate approach to caregiving, demonstrating patience and understanding in all interactions.
