Principle Duties and Responsibilities :
Direct hands on participation in all facets of the gearbox rebuild process including teardown evaluations and rebuilds.Work in close communication with office to manage shop rebuild schedule. Provide proper communication for customers as well as our outside sales staff for issues concerning quality, customer service and delivery schedules.Manage shop schedule with intention of hitting all established target deadlines. Such as teardowns in two week turnaround and rebuild return ship dates.Manage each job to maximize job efficiency and profit.Contribute to operations strategic planning and implementation of any new actions concerning productivity, quality and customer service standards.Schedule expenditures and manage operations budgets.Manage process workflow in the shop. Provide any necessary solutions to problems affecting efficient workflow.Maintain safe work environment by complying will all current standards provided by B&D Safety department. Establish any new safety guidelines necessary to ensure an ongoing injury free workplace.Responsible for maintaining all established QC process and documentation.Communicate all operating policies with team.Manage proper shop staff levels and hours.Recruit, interview and select new employees as needed per established guidelines.Ensure necessary training is provided and documented.Communicate job expectations for all of team.Responsible for review and development of shop employees.Responsible for vehicle management for shops.Work closely with all of B&D management to ensure best outcome for our customers and employees.Preform any other duties as required by supervisor.Skills / Proficiencies required :
Previous shop / production management experience.Prefer experience with an ERP operating system.Some Power Transmission and Bearing knowledgeBasic understanding of financial reporting.Excellent writing and oral communication skills.Strong organizational skills.Decision making skills.Deadline –Oriented.Must be able to handle information of a confidential nature.Must be self-motivated, flexible and adaptable to change.Some travel required due to outside services we provide.Available after hours. We are a 24 / 7 Service business.Good interpersonal skills and ability to work well with others.Benefits
