Summary
The Superintendent is someone who has high standards with a disciplined, focused, and can-do attitude. This position requires a distinguished field leader in directing, monitoring, and establishing both the efficient execution of work activities and the quality of work performed. The Superintendent also provides architectural, civil, and structural labor as required by the specifications of the job. Per trade, the Superintendent monitors the output and deliverables for each sub-contractor, craft worker, journeyman, and foreman. A person in this position must have supervisory principles and practices that allow for the effective evaluation of staff through multiple levels while providing leadership and team-building support. This job requires imagination and problem-solving skills with a strong technical orientation. The Superintendent is responsible for day-to-day coordination between the customer representatives, subcontractors, safety team, and project team.

Responsibilities
• Develop, understand, and manage the schedule
• Motivate, encourage, and coach others to perform at their best
• Keep track of and maintain a daily sign in log for project sites and weekly safety talks
• Responsible for developing and maintaining action list log (constraint log) as well as daily PTP (Pre-Task Planning)
• Write status reports and report any delays immediately to Project Manager/Area Manager
• Conduct and supervise inspection activities on the job
• Communicate information to Estimator, Project Manager, or anyone else who needs to know
• Prioritize work activities to maximize efficiency while minimizing costs
• Physically perform work without compromising the efforts of others
• Work with the customer in ensuring contractual expectations are being met
• Must know safety plans and procedures to maintain a safe and healthful workplace/job site by taking prompt action to correct hazardous conditions and when needed, STOP the job due to unsafe work conditions and work with management to resolve issues so work may continue
• Proven track record for accomplishing construction work activities related to general construction, especially mechanical, electrical, and plumbing industry standards
• Working knowledge of construction phases, task recognition, and applying good judgment
• Advanced knowledge of general construction standards related to all construction areas, and International Building Code (IBC) and NM Construction Code
• Basic knowledge of labor hours, agreements, and materials needed to complete a job
• Manage the scope and schedule to the contractual requirements
• Coordinate, schedule, and oversee multiple trades and subcontractors
• Delegate to appropriate workforce members
• Identify and mitigate potential, current, and/or future risks
• Measure and affect productivity of workers in the field
• Ability to multitask, often with competing deadlines
• Handle difficult situations using sound independent judgment within general policy and legal guidelines and identify and resolve conflicts on the job
• Physical demands include long hours sitting, using a computer, standing, pulling/pushing, walking, lifting, and climbing
• Job requires intermediate computer proficiency and advanced critical thinking skills
• Other duties, activities, and responsibilities may vary and change as assigned

Education and Experience
• Current in CPR/FA/AED
• Completion of an apprenticeship program in primary trade (required)
• Continuing or higher education, industry-specific certifications, and coursework (preferred)
• Relevant work experience may be an exception for higher education in specific construction trades
• Requiring a minimum of five years in constructions trades
• Must be OSHA 30 certified

Supervisory Responsibility
This position includes, but is not limited to, supervision of Craft Workers, Journeyman and/or Foreman
