What are the responsibilities and job description for the Program Eligibility Specialist position at B&D Integrated Health Services?
B&D Integrated Health Services (BDIHS) is seeking a Program Eligibility Specialist to support our programs. Serves as a comprehensive hub for behavioral health services, ensuring that individuals receive the care they need. The Eligibility Specialist will work collaboratively with intake, case management, and billing teams to identify and secure benefits for consumers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Intake Department to identify consumers who lack necessary benefits.
- Work closely with Case Managers and other team members to identify and secure available resources.
- Maintain a caseload of consumers without benefits and persistently seek coverage options.
- Collaborates with the Billing/UM Manager and other UM staff.
- Document all efforts and interactions in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
- Perform additional duties as needed.
Qualifications & Requirements:
This position requires a Qualified Professional as defined in 10A NCAC 27G.0104:
Candidates must meet one of the following criteria:
- Hold a license, provisional license, certificate, registration, or permit issued by a governing board regulating a human services profession.
- Have a Master’s degree in a human services field with one year of post-graduate experience in mental health (MH), developmental disabilities (DD), or substance abuse (SA) services.
- Have a Bachelor’s degree in a human services field with two years of post-bachelor’s experience in MH/DD/SA services.
- Have a Bachelor’s degree in a non-human services field with four years of post-bachelor’s experience in MH/DD/SA services.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Strong knowledge of behavioral health services and community resources.
- Experience with Medicaid, Medicare, and private insurance benefits.
- Proficiency in Electronic Health Record (EHR) documentation.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
