Overview
We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Landscape Designer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for designing outdoor spaces that enhance the natural environment while meeting the needs of our clients. This role involves collaborating with clients and other professionals to develop innovative landscape designs that incorporate elements such as gardens, hardscapes, and sustainable practices.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with clients to understand their vision and requirements for landscape projects.
- Develop detailed landscape designs using software tools such as AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite and Sketchup.
- Create 3D models and visualizations to present design concepts effectively.
- Incorporate hardscape elements into designs, ensuring functionality and aesthetic appeal.
- Conduct site assessments to evaluate conditions and constraints affecting design proposals.
- Prepare project documentation, including plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Coordinate with contractors and other professionals during the implementation of landscape projects.
- Stay updated on industry trends, materials, and sustainable practices in landscape design.
Requirements
- Degree in Landscape Design or related field or equivalent horticultural and design experience.
- Experience in Landscape/Hardscape design, sales, installation, cost estimating and proposal writing for residential and commercial projects.
- Solid knowledge of Pennsylvania region plant material, planting techniques and horticultural practices.
- Basic understanding of low voltage lighting, water features and irrigation systems.
- Experience with ILawn and plus.
- Ability to trace arial for base plan measurements.
- Ability to read blueprints and proficiency in Microsoft Office and CAD programs.
- Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture or a related field is preferred.
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite (including Adobe) and Sketchup.
- Strong understanding of hardscape materials and techniques.
- Creativity, problem solving skills and an eye for detail related to landscaping.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively convey design ideas to clients and team members.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while also being self-motivated.
- A portfolio showcasing previous landscape design projects is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of horticulture principles and plant selection is a plus.
- Ability to read and write in English.
