Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Controls & Automation Technician/Engineer to join our team. As a Controls & Automation Technician, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining control panels, PLC, HMIs, and SCADA systems. This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects and contribute to the success of our organization.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Participate in the design, development, integration, and service of automation & controls.
  • Subject matter expert for various I/O devices, from PLCs to HMI's, sensors, relays, etc…
  • Dive into troubleshooting mode, supporting our team and customer to ensure seamless operations and swift resolution of service events.
  • Ensure our control systems meet or exceed regulatory requirements.
  • Build control panels based on specifications documents.
  • Develop and maintain instrument and electrical drawings for control systems.
  • Maintain PLC documentation.
  • Understand project schedules, requirements, specs, and scope of work.
  • Communicate well and often with Project Managers and/or Controls Manager
  • Complete FAT / SAT tests.
  • Ensure quality of field installations.
  • Develop and maintain customer relationships during all phases of projects.
  • Complete other assignments as requested by leadership.
  • Willing to obtain certifications such as UL and Rockwell.

Required Qualifications (REQUIRED)

  • 10 years of electrical trade experience in an Industrial environment carrying a journeyman or master electrical license In Washington and/Idaho.
  • 10 years’ experience with the theory and design in water treatment plants and wastewater facilities electrical and automation controls (or equivalent industry)
  • 5 years’ experience with the build, testing and integration of PLC/Control Panels/Control Systems (Rockwell, Siemens, Allen Bradley, GE, Square D, etc.)
  • Experience with IT and OT network communication protocols
  • Knowledge of industrial controls networks (i.e. Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet/IP, ControlNet, DeviceNet, etc.)
  • Command over Allen Bradley and Rockwell Automation products
  • Capable of managing stressful situations and maintain strong analytical, verbal, and written communication.
  • Experience in following and executing multiple tasks, ability to keep track of multiple tasks and complete them all with updates and reports communicated where appropriate.
  • Highly organized, with a discipline for process and time management.
  • Must be able and willing to travel to customer sites.
  • Must be customer service and relationship driven.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, including written and oral.
  • Dependable, on-time, positive, and collaborative.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience and ability to read and update AutoCAD drawings.
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, or trade school equivalent, in PLC/controls engineering or combination of education and experience equivalent.
  • Electrical Engineer and/or Principle Engineer would be a significant qualification.
  • UL Certified.
  • Experience with fish hatcheries.
  • Knowledgeable about threats, vulnerabilities, and exploits in ICS environments.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $78,986.00 - $134,659.00 per year
