Job Summary
Responsible for smoothing and finishing concrete surfaces to complete construction projects.
Responsibilities
- Compact materials using power vibrators to create leveled bases
- Place forms that hold concrete to ensure the required depth and pitch is achieved
- Monitor the effect heat, wind, and cold have on curing concrete to ensure high-quality results
- Install expansion joints, anchor bolts, steel plates, and other fixtures in freshly poured concrete
- Align forms for sidewalks, curbs, and gutters
- Check and verify grade
- Signal truck drivers and move chutes to facilitate pouring concrete into forms
- Finish concrete surfaces with rough or smooth pattern according to contract
- Apply hardening and sealing compounds to cure the surface of concrete
- Follow instructions and work as a team member
Requirements
- High school diploma/GED
- Knowledge of concrete fabrication techniques
- 3 years concrete finishing experience
- Able to set and pour ADA compliant ramps
- Curb, gutter, and catch basin experience
- Strong work ethic
- Able to work in outdoor weather conditions year round
- Provide set of basic tools
- Reliable transportation
- Pass a post-offer drug screen that includes marijuana
