Responsibilities:
- Ensure the line is set up and ready with all guards in place before start-up.
- Verify the availability of all materials needed for that day’s production run and account for material/product loss (yield variances).
- Conduct all work requirements by all applicable company policies and work rules.
- Responsible for all employees while assigned to the line.
- Ensure and enforce that all employees are wearing proper PPE, following GMP practices, etc., and hold employees accountable for work rule violations.
- Train new employees on their respective positions on the line and ensure all applicable JSA’s trained before starting assignment.
- Train employees on JSA’s as employees are moved from one position to another before starting new assignments.
- Notify maintenance immediately of any problems that may occur.
- Notify QA of any out-of-spec product or labeling issues that may occur.
- Complete all required paperwork correctly.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Ensure timely changeovers when required.
- Work safely and report all unsafe working conditions and/or unsafe acts to the supervisor immediately.
- Responsible for ensuring food safety/quality policies are followed, to report all food safety/quality problems out of their realm of responsibility to personnel with the authority to initiate action.
- Responsible for making sure a good safe wholesome product is produced safely.
- All other duties as required.
Experience, Skills, Education:
- The self-motivated and team-oriented individual identifies with company objectives and can work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to learn each piece of equipment on the line assigned to facilitate training new employees.
- Ability to motivate and guide others.
- Microsoft Office user (Outlook, Excel).
- Ability to operate a forklift.
- Basic math skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Plant environment.
- Ability to walk and stand for extended periods.
- Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. – if an accommodation is necessary please notify Human Resources in advance of the interview.
- Work involves stooping, crouching, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, and grasping. Ability to substantially move wrists, hands, and/or fingers to adjust machine parts and computer operations.
- Must be flexible to work hours outside of regular schedule as needed.
