Job Overview:
The Accounting department records and maintains all financial data required for company financial statements.
The General Ledger Accounting Manager oversees the workflow and productivity of the Accounting team and ensures company transactions are recorded properly and reporting accurately. As the senior member of the accounting team, the Manager possesses a comprehensive understanding of general ledger processes and resolves any escalated issues. The manager provides technical and non-technical guidance to the accounting team and prioritizes and delegates workflow based on complexity and availability of team resources.
Essential Responsibilities:
Oversees the workflow and productivity of General Ledger Accounting Team
Delegates and prioritizes assignments based on complexity and availability of team resources
Implements procedural and policy changes to improve departmental workflow
Develops, enforces, and maintains company accounting policies
Maintains accuracy and integrity of financial software system and financial statements
Communicates and interacts with CFO, B&H departments, and external accountants as needed to keep them updated and to resolve issues and problems
Prepares financial statements for management reporting needs and banking institutions
Facilitates and manages the external auditing process
Oversees design and implementation of accounting control processes
Provides training and guidance to all members of the general ledger accounting team

Preferred Education, Experience and Licenses:
Minimum 5 years managing a team
Minimum 7 years of general accounting experience
