Description
Competitive pay! Learn how to weld and hang duct. All tooling and protective equipment provided. Must be able to pass JLA background check and clean MVR.
You will be trained in our Fort Myers, FL Sheet Metal Shop to learn how weld duct, build duct and eventually install duct.
B&I will provide the skills and training to pass and attain welding certifications. After training and certifications are complete the welders will transfer to the field where they will be required to weld duct and when there are no projects that require welding then they will be installing non-welded duct.
Once you have passed your certifications you will be transferred to the field to assemble, install and repair sheet metal products and equipment such as ductwork, fittings, fans, dampers and air distribution.
Job Responsibilities :
Install duct, accessories and equipment at the jobsite according to blueprint specifications.
Use of hand tools and portable power tools per specifications of job.
May be required to work with a Sheet Metal Helper to provide instruction as to proper methods of tool handling and work product specifications.
Must complete spec work for fittings, fans, dampers and air distribution.
Minimum Requirements :
GED or High School Graduate Preferred.
Understand how to measure duct for fabrication, make field modifications and install duct by shop blueprints.
Work skillfully with tools, metals and machines.
Visualize three-dimensional objects from drawings, sketches or blueprints.
Work within precise limits and standards.
Perform a variety of duties which may change often.
Rate information using measurable standards.
Understand English and follow and provide directives to assigned helpers.
