JOB TITLE: Supply Chain Manager
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY: The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the end-to-end supply chain process, including strategic purchasing, inventory control, vendor relationship management, and internal process improvement. Project management is key in this role including both internal project management and external vendor oversight. This role will play a key part in supporting production goals, reducing costs, and ensuring the timely delivery of materials and services.

CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES:
Essential
- Develop and execute strategic sourcing and purchasing plans to support production and business objectives
- Manage procurement of raw materials, components, and services with a focus on cost-effectiveness, quality, and reliability
- Maintain optimal inventory levels by forecasting demand, monitoring usage, and minimizing excess and obsolete stock
- Implement lead supply chain practices and reduce operational costs
- Create and maintain a system to detect potential disruptions to the supply chain
- Negotiate and maintain supplier agreements and other contracts with vendors
- Work closely with internal teams (Sales, Production, Finance, Shipping) and external partners to align supply chain process with business needs
- Reduce procurement and logistics costs through strategic negotiations and bulk purchasing
- Analyze market trends and price fluctuations in raw materials to make cost effective purchasing decisions
- Evaluate new vendors as replacements or secondary sources to existing vendors
- Create standard work for processes and perform cross training
- Conduct frequent inventory cycle counts, identifying slow moving and obsolete inventory
- Evaluate and manage vendor performance, negotiate contracts, and cultivate strong supplier relationships
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to ensure seamless material flow and support operational efficiency
- Identify and implement improvements in supply chain processes, systems, and tools
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and generate reports to drive data-based decision making
- Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations
- Support and lead initiatives for cost reduction, lead time improvement, and risk mitigation
- Experience in the sheet metal or fabrication industry
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies

REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION:
Essential
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business, Operations, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5 years of experience in supply chain, purchasing, or operations, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of procurement strategies, inventory management, and vendor negotiations
- Experience with ERP systems and data analysis tools
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on environment

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION:

Working Environment: Office, shop and outdoor environments. Moderate noise level. Exposure to dust, heat and cold.
