Telecommunications Foreman

Job Description:

Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Telecommunications Foreman to join our team. As a Telecommunications Foreman, you will be responsible for managing your team, installing, maintaining, and repairing telecommunications cables, including fiber optics. You will work outdoors in various weather conditions and will be required to climb utility poles or use aerial lift equipment.

Requirements:

· Must have a valid driver’s license.

· Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

· Must have a completed DOT Physical prior to starting employment.

· Must be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions and physically demanding environments.

· Must have experience as a Telecommunication Lineman, preferably as a foreman

· Must have good communication and leadership schools

Responsibilities:

· Managing and directing your crew to safely and efficiently finish jobs, stay on task, and travel to each location in a timely manner

· Fill out reports, log job progress, and reporting to the Project Manager.

· Install, maintain, and repair aerial fiber coax and strand using hand tools and/or mechanized equipment.

· Operate hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment such as bucket trucks.

· Climb utility poles and work at heights to perform installations and repairs.

· String cables between structures and cable from poles, towers, or trenches and pull cables to proper tension.

· Pull cable by hand from groundman or from large reels mounted on trucks.

· Access specific areas to string cables or install terminal boxes, auxiliary equipment, or appliances, using bucket trucks, or by climbing poles or ladders.

· Inspect or test cables, recording and analyzing test results, to assess transmission characteristics and locate faults or malfunctions.

· Inspect, clean, maintain, and repair equipment to keep them in good working condition.

· Follow safety guidelines¸ D.O.T., N.E.C Codes, and protocols to prevent accidents and injuries.

· Provide excellent customer service and address customer inquiries and concerns.

Desirable Skills:

· Certification or training in telecommunications, electrical work, or a related field preferred.

· Proven experience as a Telecommunications Lineman

· Previous experience as a Telecommunication Foreman

· Knowledge of industry safety standards and practices.

Desirable Certifications:

· High School Diploma/GED

· OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification

· Flagger certification

· CDL, Class A or Class B

· First Aid/CPR certification

Working Conditions/Physical Demands:

· Work primarily outdoors in various weather conditions.

· Must be capable of lifting and moving heavy equipment and materials.

· Required to work at heights and climb utility poles using safety equipment.

· Flexible hours and occasional overtime may be required to meet project deadlines.
