General Responsibilities:
The General Laborer/Fire Watch individual is responsible for performing a number of duties at the Construction site, including the surveillance of areas where hot work (welding or cutting with torches) occurs including, but not limited to:
- Preparing and restoring construction sites daily to maintain safety standards.
- Pre-task walk to clear the work areas.
- Keep work areas clean of combustible materials.
- Maintain a lookout for small fires started by sparks and bits of slag from the welding/torches.
- If a fire begins to develop or occurs sound the alarm and, if possible attempt to control/extinguish the fire.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
