We provide specialty transportation for students in central CT, using a growing fleet of 30 vehicles and employ nearly 50 employees who pride themselves in providing safe, and reliable school transportation for students with special needs, or students who are homeless, or displaced from their home and under DCF care.
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated, and experienced Human Resources & Office Manager to oversee all aspects of our Office and HR functions. This role is crucial in fostering a positive workplace culture and ensuring compliance with employment laws. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of strong organizational skills, administrative acumen, and a comprehensive understanding of HR practices, including payroll management, training development, and vendor management.
Duties
- Manage the recruitment process, including job postings, interviewing, and onboarding new employees.
- Oversee payroll processing and ensure accuracy in employee compensation.
- Manage and develop employee training programs to enhance employee skills and performance.
- Maintain employee records and files in compliance with legal requirements.
- Coordinate office management tasks to ensure a smooth operation of the HR department.
- Handle vendor management for services and supplies necessary to run the office.
- Provide support for the Transportation and Fleet Maintenance departments in order to liaise and collaborate company workflows.
- Manage schedule coordination for HR activities, meetings, and training sessions.
- The office Administrative Assistant and Training Specialist report directly to this position.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in human resources or related fields.
- Strong knowledge of payroll systems, preferably QuickBooks.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Administrative computer skills with hands on, day to day problem solving experience a must.
- Familiarity with office management practices is a plus.

Pay: $54,000.00 - $58,000.00 per year
