Job Title: Shipping and Receiving

Position Overview: We are seeking a motivated candidate to join our team. Shipping and Receiving Specialists play a crucial role in our operations by ensuring accurate records of all incoming and outgoing shipments, preparing parts for dispatch, and selecting cost-effective shipping methods.

Responsibilities:

• Perform work following all safety policies and procedures, including the maintenance and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Read and understand work orders to accurately identify parts for shipment.
• Professionally communicate with sales staff and delivery representatives to gather missing customer information, explain reasons for parts returns, and notify sellers of any previously unnoticed damage to parts.
• Assist with daily data entry for shipments and outbound deliveries.
• Determine the best shipping methods, routes, or rates for materials, comparing options to select the most efficient ones.
• Contact carrier representatives to arrange shipments and provide instructions for the delivery of parts.
• Verify shipment contents against records such as delivery tickets, manifests, invoices, or orders.
• Pack, seal, label, and affix postage materials for shipping, using hand tools, power tools, or postage meter.
• Prepare necessary documents, such as delivery tickets, bills of lading, or shipping orders, to route shipments.
• Record shipment data, including weight, charges, space availability, damages, or discrepancies for reporting, accounting, or recordkeeping.
• File claims for lost or damaged parts with shipping companies.
• Follow procedures and work instructions related to filling and packaging parts for delivery.
• Provide feedback to supervisors to continuously improve packaging and shipping quality.
• Recognize nonconforming products and inform the supervisor to initiate appropriate actions.
• Maintain good work habits by keeping the work area clean and safe and reporting all safety issues to a supervisor.
• Be available to work required hours, which may include weekends, holidays, and overtime.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence and prepare shipping labels.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Basic knowledge of computers.
• High School diploma or GED.
• 1 years of shipping and receiving experience.

Salary: $14.00 - 16.00 per hour
