Position Overview
B&T USA is seeking a Production Planner who will be responsible for effectively coordinating and optimizing the manufacturing production process, contributing to the overall success of the manufacturing operation
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain production schedules to meet demands and optimize resource use.
- Ensure the availability of raw materials and equipment needed to meet production schedules.
- Work closely with various departments, including procurement, engineering, and logistics, to ensure timely production.
- Track production progress and address any issues that arise to minimize disruptions.
- Monitor production costs and work to improve efficiency and reduce expenses.
- Provide regular updates on production status and any issues to upper management.
- Analyze production processes and implement improvements to enhance productivity and quality.
- Ensure production output meets quality standards and specifications.
- Communicate regularly with various departments and management regarding problems or issues impacting production.
- Assist Director in resolving production issues.
- Evaluate machine resources to ensure continued production and minimal downtime.
- Develop workflow policies and procedures that improve efficiency without compromising safety or quality.
- Ensure all health and safety standards are met.
Required Education/Experience/Skills
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required. Bachelor's degree in operations management, industrial engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Previous experience in production planning, manufacturing, or supply chain management required.
- Prior experience in firearm assembly or related fields is preferred.
- Must meet ATF requirements for firearm possession.
- Ability to analyze production data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions to optimize production processes.
- Strong problem-solving skills to address production issues and implement effective solutions quickly.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, ensure accuracy in planning and scheduling and maintain detailed records.
- Familiarity with production planning software (e.g., ERP, MRP systems) and other relevant tools.
- Ability to efficiently manage time to meet production deadlines and handle unexpected delays.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including procurement, engineering, and logistics.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and manage relationships with vendors and suppliers
- Flexibility to adapt to changing production demands and unexpected challenges.
- Understanding of cost control and efficiency improvement to effectively manage production budgets.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Work Environment:
- Work performed in a combination of machine shop and office environment.
- Exposed to machine shop manufacturing elements such as noise, dust, odors, fumes, etc.
- Must be able to access and navigate B&T’s facilities.
Physical Requirements Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position.
- Ability to lift up to 15lbs unassisted and up to 30lbs assisted.
- Regularly required to stand, sit, bend, reach and perform repetitive tasks requiring manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
- Frequently required to move about the facility and/or between facilities throughout the workday.
Job Type
FT – Hourly
On-Site Monday to Friday. May be required to work weekends and after-hours when needed to meet production demands.
