B&W Productions Group is a small, fast-growing company based in Chicago IL. We are currently looking for freelance audio & video engineers to join our team.

Job Description

  • Stagehands
  • Load and unload set trucks
  • Assembling equipment and support structures and breaking them down when the show is over.
  • Making set adjustments when necessary.
  • Inspecting lighting, sound, and other equipment, and ensuring that everything is plugged into the correct power source.
  • General AV Tech
  • Audio video (AV) technicians set up and operate the video, audio, and lighting equipment used to enhance live events. They assemble microphones, mix sound boards, coordinate graphics, operate spotlights, manage video recordings, and provide technical support for corporate events.
  • Audio Engineer
  • Execute the technical aspects of each design, including interpreting audio needs and all signal flow plans, I/O lists, and stage & venue plots
  • Mix FOH, Monitors or Streaming Audio Feeds
  • Provides professional, courteous service to all clients
  • Fulfills the role of System Tech or Console Operator, or both when required, depending on the size of the event
  • Responsible for setup, operation, and strike of equipment before, during, and after events, including operating all system processors/software, audio consoles, playback support systems, and any audio related gear as required
  • Direct any Audio technicians under their supervision in the completion of any tasks to deliver the expected Frost level of service, providing guidance when necessary
  • Video Engineer
  • Set up, operate, and strike video equipment on the show site
  • Coordinate with the Graphics Operator, Projectionist, Playback Operator, A1, and LD
  • Assist with basic graphics and technical support
  • Maintain a safe, organized, clean, and neat work environment
  • Primary duties include the operation of advanced video switchers including E2/S3 consoles.
  • The V1 must be familiar with cabling and routing, and be able to work with other departments for connecting with playback systems, cameras, projectors, and LED walls.
  • The V1 works with the Technical Director (TD) or the Production Manager on the production schedule and is involved with load-in, rehearsals, show, and load-out.
  • The ideal candidate would also be familiar with the needs of live streaming and software switchers such as vMix.
  • Assume additional duties as needed

Requirements
Minimum 3 years of live production experience required

  • Live-mixing skills and working knowledge of digital consoles, specifically DiGiCo, Soundcraft, Yamaha, and Midas
  • Excellent system management skills; including building a line array per spec sheet
  • Understanding of line array prediction and monitoring software required; preferably Martin Audio Display & VuNet and Harman Audio Architect
  • Excellent knowledge of proper gain structure and signal flow
  • Working knowledge of standard audio related software, such as, but not limited to, Shure Workbench 6, Qlab 4, Harman Audio Architect and Martin Audio Display & VuNet
  • Ability to interpret event technical documents including technical riders, signal flow diagrams, input lists, stage plots, run-of- show, cue lists,
  • Comprehensive understanding of audio-related rigging gear including motors, hoists, crank lifts, truss, span sets, shackles, beam clamps, mega-claws, and their practical application
  • Ability to work in a high-stress environment and demonstrate initiative
  • Strong verbal and written communication, organization, and time-management skills
  • Availability and willingness to work extended hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Punctuality, professionalism, and a positive collaborative attitude when working with clients and co-workers
  • Corporate / Special Events / Hotel / Arena / Broadcast experience is a plus
  • Working knowledge of Waves Soundgrid servers
  • Self-motivated with ability to work on several projects simultaneously with minimal supervision
  • Ability to set up and operate professional video switching consoles (specifically Barco E2)
  • Experience in video cabling, signal routing, and control
  • Familiarity with high end video equipment such as cameras, projectors, and LED walls
  • Knowledge of hardware and software playback and recording, video formats and codecs
  • Skill in directing camera operators with a creative eye for storytelling through shot selection
  • Familiarity with IMAG, camera control (CCU, RCP), and shading is ideal
  • Experience with Disguise, Green Hippo, Watchout, or similar a plus
  • Computer literacy (Windows & MacOS) and general networking knowledge
  • Basic knowledge of graphics and creative tools such as the Adobe suite, PowerPoint, and Keynote
  • Excellent written, communication and time management skills
  • Ability to stand, kneel, and/or crouch for long periods of time
  • Ability to climb ladders and scaffolding, operate single column lifts (Genies or scissor lifts), and comfortable working at heights
  • Ability to work in variety of environments, including hot, humid, cold, and in small, cramped spaces
  • Able to lift up to 50

B&W Productions Group is a fast-growing company that designs and manufactures industrial supplies and equipment for the food and beverage industry. We are currently seeking a motivated individual to join our Anahiem, CA team . Our Technician will work with our engineering team onsite. This position will be located in our Atlanta, GA location.

Essential Duties:

  • The LED Technician is responsible for assisting in creating immersive environments for productions. They have to build and calibrate the large screens and work with the production to achieve the right space and look. The Technician will be responsible for managing the screens on set, making sure the correct backgrounds are displayed for the scene. They will assist the production in creating this large world and if needed, advise the on-set camera team on the optimum settings for the screens.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain the LED video wall panels to ensure optimal functionality during the show.
  • Coordinate with the V1 to integrate and play content on the video wall using Resolume software.
  • Assist in the staging and building of the LED video wall, ensuring it is structurally sound and visually appealing.
  • Verify and manage all connections, including data and power cables, to ensure secure and reliable operation of the video wall.
  • Collaborate with the production team to ensure timely setup and teardown of the video wall equipment between shows.
  • Address any technical issues that may arise.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in LED video wall technology, suggesting improvements and upgrades as necessary.

Qualifications:
Proficiency in using Resolume software for scaling and managing video wall content.

  • Strong knowledge of LED video wall technology, including troubleshooting and maintenance.
  • Familiarity with staging and building LED video walls, ensuring proper installation and alignment.
  • Ability to handle and manage data and power connections for the video wall effectively.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically in resolving technical issues.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with team members.
  • Flexibility to work during unconventional hours and travel as required for shows and events.
