What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Control Technician position at B&W QUALITY GROWERS?
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the following. Other duties may be assigned.
· Expected to perform the essential duties and responsibilities in a safe manner and according to the standard set by B & W.
· Observe safety of both personnel and product, including quality of product.
· Monitor product quality through performing quality assessments on raw product, in process product and finished product.
· Ensure quality and food safety through monitoring of the grading, washing, drying, cooling, and bagging processes.
· Accurately record data on paperwork and on a computer, including but not limited to temperature, weight, dates, etc.
· Adhere to food safety guidelines and regulations.
· Use analytical instruments to measure water quality and temperatures.
· Perform microbiology sampling and testing as needed.
· Enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).

QUALIFICATIONS

· EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE – Must have High School Diploma or GED
· COMMUNICATION SKILL LEVEL – Must be able to communicate effectively with supervisor and production team. Must understand basic general and food safety standards and guidelines. Ability to read and write in English is required, bi-lingual (English/Spanish) is highly preferred.
· COMPUTER SKILLS – Must be able to use a computer and MS Word and MS Excel programs with some training.
· PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS – Must have basic math skills including the ability to multiply, divide and calculate percentages. Must also be able to read and understand decimals, fractions, and negative numbers.
· CERTIFICATIONS and/or LICENSES REQUIRED – N/A
· MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT USED – Smock, Gloves, Hair/Beard Net, Protective Sleeves, Analytical Instruments, Tablet/Computer.
