A growing engineering and project management firm is looking to bring on a Project Manager with a background in electric utility infrastructure. This person will play a key role on the Project Management team, supporting transmission and substation projects across Western Pennsylvania and nearby regions.
This role will involve overseeing projects from inception through completion, focusing on greenfield & brownfield substation builds and transmission & distribution line rebuilds/expansions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure full compliance with on-site safety procedures; stop unsafe activities and escalate safety concerns as necessary.
- Drive project tasks independently with minimal supervision; take ownership of project progress and completion.
- Participate in or lead project meetings to assess status, manage tasks such as material tracking, schedule adherence, documentation, and as-built updates.
- Conduct field walkdowns and provide input to help achieve project goals.
- Identify opportunities for improving project processes and workflows.
- Handle light physical duties (e.g., climb ladders, lift up to 50 lbs occasionally).
- Manage competing priorities across multiple projects with strategic and daily task planning.
- Learn and utilize multiple software tools required for project tracking and coordination.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- 8–10 years of experience managing electric utility projects (Transmission, Distribution, Substation).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe, and scheduling software (Primavera P6 required).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with budgeting, financial forecasting, and schedule updates.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation for regular site visits.
- Willingness to travel as needed (travel expenses reimbursed).
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment and ongoing drug/alcohol screening in accordance with federal regulations.
Salary : $155,000 - $175,000
