Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Job Coach to join our team. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in guiding individuals through their career development journey, helping them identify their strengths, set achievable goals, and navigate the job market. This role is particularly focused on supporting individuals with autism, developmental disabilities, and those in recovery from addiction. The Job Coach will utilize their expertise in workforce development and mentoring to empower clients to achieve sustainable employment.
Responsibilities
- Provide instructional cueing and task analysis to train individuals at their job site.
- Utilize employee's personal goals using motivational interviewing.
- Assist the employee with online training and pre-employment tests and documentation.
- Act as a liaison for the individual and attend all job site meetings and reviews.
- Help identify natural supports and encourage communication with co-workers.
- Daily progress notes, using keywords of strengths, improvement, and deficits.
- Help the employee to self-identify skill deficits to work on.
- Identify any necessary tools, clothing, and PPE necessary for safe, effective employment. And check in to make sure they are using them properly.
- Engage the employees and guide them toward self-advocacy, self-determination, and independence.
- Work with the employer to identify the individual’s workplace goals and the employee’s role within the organization.
- Help Employment Specialists customize tasks for better results.
- Create strong relationships with the employer for future opportunities.
- Help the employee with soft skills such as social skills, hygiene, and communication.
- Work with the employee and employer to develop a support system and accommodations for skill deficits, such as executive functioning deficits.
- Help the employee to stay on task, work efficiently, and stay motivated during their work shifts.
- Advocate for the employee including shifts, hours, pay .
- Communicate weekly schedules with the employee, Home Provider/family, and transportation.
- Counsel employees on fine-tuning work habits/skills in preparation for promoting competitive employment.
- Help the employee maintain pay stubs and encourage financial counseling, and deliver directions on reporting SSI.
Requirements
- Clean BGC and driver’s license
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $21.00 - $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
