Java Backend Developer (EJB & WebSphere)
Job Title: Java Backend Developer (EJB & WebSphere)
Location: Northern New Jersey (Hybrid/Onsite Preferred)
Duration: Long-Term Contract
Start Date: ASAP
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, test, and deploy robust backend solutions using Java and EJB.
- Maintain and optimize applications running on IBM WebSphere.
- Work closely with system architects, business analysts, and front-end teams to integrate backend services with UI and third-party systems.
- Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues as needed.
- Provide documentation and support for deployed services.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 7 years of Java backend development experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with EJB (Session Beans, MDBs, etc.).
- Solid expertise in IBM WebSphere Application Server (v8.5 or higher preferred).
- Experience with JDBC, JPA, and relational databases (e.g., DB2, Oracle).
- Familiarity with SOAP/RESTful Web Services.
- Strong understanding of multithreading, exception handling, and performance tuning.
- Excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with JMS and message-driven architectures.
- Familiarity with DevOps tools like Jenkins, Git, Maven, etc.
Additional Information:
