About the Role:
As our SEO Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our online presence and driving our business objectives through strategic SEO initiatives. This role requires a deep understanding of organic search optimization (OSO), as search engines are just one component of our broader strategy at Babbel. You will lead efforts to optimize Babbel’s visibility across traditional search engines, LLMs like Gemini, ChatGPT, and Perplexity, as well as social platforms like TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and Reddit.
You will work closely with a small team of SEO content strategists based at our headquarters in Berlin, Germany, focusing on optimizing existing content pages and collaborating on the creation of a Spanish language learning hub. Your expertise in on-page optimization and technical SEO will be crucial in enhancing our website's performance and user experience. You will also monitor and report on organic search performance, providing actionable insights to grow reach and meet team goals.
This position is located in NYC and requires a minimum of 3 days/week in office.
You will:
- Lead efforts to optimize visibility across AI search, LLMs, and social platforms.
- Conduct in-depth keyword research to identify high-potential keywords and analyze search intent.
- Optimize website content, meta tags, headers, and URLs for target keywords.
- Identify and resolve technical SEO issues, improving website architecture and navigation.
- Perform quarterly SEO audits and collaborate with developers on tech optimizations.
- Monitor and analyze website traffic, leads, sales, keyword rankings, and other KPIs using tools like Google Analytics and Tableau.
- Generate regular reports and provide actionable insights to management and the team.
- Drive continuous improvement through data analysis and testing.
You have:
- 5 years experience in SEO, with a strong understanding of technical, on-page, and strategic aspects.
- A curious mindset with a zeal for learning and exploring new SEO trends.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in SEO tools and platforms like Google Analytics, GSC, Sistrix, Screaming Frog, Wordpress, SEMRush, ChatGPT, Python, and Tableau.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Salary Information:
- In New York City, the reasonable annualized full-time salary range for this role is $90,000-$110,000. Placement within this range will vary based on several factors including, but not limited to experience, education, licensure/certifications, training and skill level.
