The Babcock & Wilcox Company (B&W) is a leader in energy and environmental products and services for power and industrial markets worldwide. Our headquarters in Akron, Ohio is currently seeking Expense Analyst to join our Accounting Global Business Services (GBS) team. The Expense Analyst is accountable to the Manager OTC & AP for ensuring expense transactions are appropriately processed and procedures and controls are effectively applied. They are responsible for processing complex payables/expense report transactions and resolving related problems. Responsibility also includes reconciling and reporting i-expense transactions, actively participating on cross-functional project, developing and implementing policies and procedure to improve efficiencies, and providing support to the manager and team as needed.
- Process and audit i-expense reports across the global business scape
- Reconcile i-expense accounts on a monthly/quarterly basis
- Create and and implement process efficiencies and policies within the i-expense environment that meet SOX compliance.
- Analyze accounts, identify issues and provide support documentation
- Provide Support for audit requests
- Follow up with employees on late reimbursements of personal charges as needed
- Resolve reporting errors, respond to ad hoc requests
- Support process maintenance in ERP system as needed
- Other projects and/or task as assigned as part of the GBS team
- Completed a 4 year degree with a focus on accounting, business, or equivalent combination of education and work experience
- Accounts payable or expense related experience
- Experience operating in multiple ERP systems
- Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, preferred
- Capacity to handle confidential information
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently with a sense of urgency and enthusiasm
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
