Description
A Project / Design Engineer 2 is directly responsible for the technical preparation and design execution of assigned projects, with these responsibilities crossing multiple engineering disciplines. Typical responsibility and day-to-day tasks shall involve, but not be limited to :
- ASME Section I and Section VIII, Div. 1 Code calculations for a variety of steaming equipment and pressure vessels (firetube & watertube boilers, superheaters, and economizers)
- Structural support & lifting component design, i.e. saddles, structural casing (incl. non-Code pressure retaining components), and lift lugs & apparatus
- Generating foundation load tables, allowable nozzle load analysis, & minor piping stress analysis
- Project specification review and analysis
- Boiler & superheater / economizer valve and instrumentation design and requisitioning, i.e. level control / monitoring components, boiler & superheater / economizer trim accessories, pressure safety valves & silencers, etc.
- Other relevant duties, as assigned
