Hours: 15 – 20 hours a week (Disbursed Monday - Friday based on student’s schedule) Compensation: Indicate hourly rate, stipend, etc. The following are important as students make decisions about our program:

Position Description:
The Office of Belonging and Inclusion (OBI) seeks a highly motivated Graduate Assistant with a passion for marketing and media to lead communication strategies and support programs that foster belonging, inclusion, spiritual vitality, and cross-cultural collaboration. Reporting to Preeta, Associate Director of Spiritual Life, and EriKa Monfort, Associate Director of Cultural Life, the Graduate Assistant will be a key member of the OBI team. This role will involve supporting the department's mission through effective strategies to enhance communication, student programming, and serving as link between our office and graduate students. This role will foster strong collaborations with student organizations and implementing innovative community-building initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess strong creative and design skills, with a proven ability to develop compelling digital and print content, manage social media platforms effectively, and create engaging interactive displays. They will also demonstrate a commitment to supporting programs that foster belonging and inclusion within a diverse campus community. Furthermore, the successful candidate will be creative, flexible, and deeply committed to promoting justice, equity, and well-being for all members of the campus community.
Requirements:
We seek an individual who:
- The Graduate Assistant should be enrolled/enrolling in the Master of Arts in Higher Education in the Lynch School of Education & Human Development.
- Has worked with or open to working with a diverse population of students and community.
- Has a passion for cultivating a culture of belonging and inclusion in a college context.
- Strong skills in social media management and graphic design (e.g., Instagram, Canva, Adobe Suite).
- Proven ability to create compelling marketing content for diverse audiences.
- Commitment to fostering belonging and inclusion, with a passion for justice, equity, and well- being.
- Exceptional organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Creativity and adaptability to solve problems in innovative ways.
- Must have a growth mindset.

The Office of Belonging and Inclusion is a new department within Student Affairs. It is the outcome of merging The Office of Religious and Spiritual Life and Multicultural Identity Programs. Key Responsibilities include:
- Marketing and Media (Primary Focus)
- Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote OBI programs, events, and resources.
- Manage OBI’s social media accounts, creating engaging and innovative content to foster
community engagement.
- Design all marketing materials, including flyers, graphics, and newsletters, ensuring they reflect
the office’s mission and appeal to a diverse audience.
- Maintain and curate displays for the Diversity Suite and Reynolds bulletin boards, creating interactive and visually appealing installations that highlight:
- Cultural and religious celebrations.
- Upcoming events and office offerings.
- Resources and opportunities for students.
·Program and Event Coordination
- Assist in planning and executing OBI events, such as but not limited to:
- Leap of Faith Week
- Martin Luther King Legacy Day
- LGBTQ & Allies Welcome Reception
- Women’s History Month Programming
- Baccalaureate, Multicultural Festival, and Lavender Graduation
- Co-facilitate workshops and presentations focused on cultural competency, leadership development, and fostering a sense of belonging.
·Student Organization Support
- Provide guidance to faith-based and cultural student organizations in planning inclusive and intersectional programming.
- Encourage collaboration among student groups to create initiatives that promote diversity, belonging, and cross-cultural understanding.
·Research and Assessment
- Support data collection and analysis to assess the effectiveness of marketing efforts and programs.
- Conduct benchmarking and research to identify best practices for belonging and inclusion within higher education and entrepreneurial settings.
