Duties & Responsibilities:
The Peer Tutors support the students in their assigned course during the fall, spring and/or summer sessions. Responsibilities of the tutors may include: new tutor training, and any supplemental tutor training, lead 1:1 tutor sessions in assigned course, attendance at tutor meetings, faculty meetings as requested, monthly submission of requested hours, review of the course syllabus and Canvas site regularly, correspondence with faculty if needed, completion of the WCOnline report after tutor session (what was worked on with tutee, time of session if longer than 45 minutes), facilitation of group study sessions and feedback to Peer Tutoring staff regarding concerns, questions, and suggestions.
Qualifications:
Excellent communication and listening skills
Proficiency in the course in which you tutor (achieve a minimum of B in the course)
Ability to explain concepts of the course to others
Excellent time management skills and attention to detail (replies to emails!)
Remain in good standing with the college
Passionate about the course you are tutoring!
Recommendation from a professor in the subject area you are applying in is required
Hours: 3-5 per week
