What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nurse Visitor - Nurse Family Partnership ~ Lincoln County, Colorado position at Baby Bear Hugs?
The Baby Bear Hugs-Northeast Nurse Family Partnership (NFP) program provides parenting education and support, case management and resources through home visitation for first time mothers and their families in the Northeast Colorado. Nurse visitors conduct in-home and virtual visits from the early prenatal period through the child’s second birthday.
- Hours: Three quarter time or 1 full-time: .75-1 FTE. (30-40 hours a week)
- Salary: $32 to $38 per hour based on education and experience. Benefits include 12 paid holidays, paid time off, life insurance. Health insurance offered for .75 FTE .
- Area Covered: Kit Carson and Lincoln Counties
- Job qualifications: Applicants must be registered nurses, have a current Colorado nursing license and CPR certification. BSN preferred, or willingness to get BSN. Two years of experience in maternal/child health, public health, home visiting or mental/behavioral nursing preferred. Up to date with all immunizations.
- Strong maternal-child health nursing skills.
- Knowledge of child development.
- Able to provide a nurturing role model and understand maternal issues.
- Basic knowledge of community resources.
- Will work out of Baby Bear Hugs NFP office, but will spend much of the time visiting homes of the families served.
- Must be willing to travel to visit families in their homes. Valid driver’s license and insured transportation required.
- Must support child immunizations, nonsmoking and elimination of second hand smoke policies.
- Must attend meetings and trainings of the Nurse Family Partnership program held virtually or in Denver, regional NFP team meetings, regional BBH staff meetings in Yuma, and initial orientation/training.
- May attend Baby Bear Hugs County Advisory Committee or other county/regional meetings when necessary.
