What are the responsibilities and job description for the Child Care Director position at Baby's World Child Development Center?
BWCDC is a 3 to 4 Star facility childcare center “Where Children Are #1” for over 50 years. We serve 0-2, 3-5 and 5-12-year-old students in three buildings. We focus under the leadership of our current Director/Owner on the importance of preparing our young clients for and while in the early stages of academia based on targeting a maximized classroom while suiting the child’s needs both in curriculum and early socialization.
MAJOR FUNCTIONS
- Maintaining a good relationship with the ownership adhering to those mandates sent by the BWCDC Board of Directors
- Hiring and orientating new qualified staff
- Supervising and evaluating all personnel
- Maintaining a physical environment that conforms to NC licensing standards of safety and cleanliness that is conducive to the optimal growth of the child client at the facility
- Maintaining a facility environment that conforms to NC licensing standards of physical safety and well-being of those that attend as well as those who work for the center
- Developing and executing an on-going program of age-appropriate curriculum and activities that contribute to the care, growth and development of the child
- Supervising and maintaining an inventory of supplies, equipment and other necessary materials needed to carry out a program of learning, development and other activities
- Facilitating the enrollment process of BWCDC and understanding those policies given by the DHHS voucher system of enrollment
- Collecting all fees including those for registration
- Establishing and maintaining staff schedules
- Scheduling and overseeing food preparation, inventory and those items that are brought in on a daily and seasonal basis staying in accordance with NC licensing standards
- Maintaining continual learning and professional development including the requirements for safety and other trainings for all staff and child clients in accordance with NC licensing standards
- Maintaining all child and staff records as well as fire and health regulations to be posted in plain site
- Assisting and reviewing the center’s operational and personnel policies annually
- Being the liaison between staff, child and parent for the welfare of the center while maintaining the parent, teacher child relationship
- Being the liaison between the center and Social Services and any other regulatory agencies for verbal and written reporting to the welfare all stakeholders of the center including staff, child, and parent
MINOR FUNCTIONS:
- Being able to lift 25lbs or more
