Senior Estimator
Position Overview :
The Senior Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for multi-family construction projects. This includes reviewing project plans and specifications, collaborating with subcontractors and vendors, and analyzing all project-related costs. The Senior Estimator plays a key role in supporting the pre-construction team and ensuring the successful bidding and execution of projects.
Key Responsibilities :
- Estimate Preparation :
Prepare detailed cost estimates for all aspects of multi-family construction projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
Solicit and review subcontractor and vendor quote to ensure competitive and comprehensive pricing.
Track and evaluate historical cost data to improve the accuracy of future estimates.
Work closely with project managers, architects, and other team members to identify potential cost impacts and solutions.
Identify opportunities to streamline estimating processes and improve efficiency.
Ability and willingness, alongside the Director of Multi-family Construction, to lead, mentor, and guide less-experienced members of a construction management team.
Requirements :
Qualifications and Skills :
Bachelor's degree in construction management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred. Equivalent experience may be considered.
5-7 years of experience in estimating within the construction industry, preferably in multi-family or residential projects.
Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, building codes, and sequencing.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
