What are the responsibilities and job description for the Delivery Driver (Bakery) position at Back Porch Bakery?
The Back Porch Bakery is only as great as the people who work for us! We are currently seeking a Bakery Team Member at our location in SLO.
We have a unique opportunity which is part delivery driver and part production assistant. This is a pretty chill job without much stress. If you’ve ever been interested in working at a bakery this is an excellent opportunity to learn from our highly skilled team of bakers!

WHAT YOU’LL DO: THIS IS A UNIQUE AND IMPORTANT JOB AT OUR BAKERY!!
- Delivery driving our pastries and breads for our wholesale customers in SLO, Avila, Pismo, AG, and Los Osos and surrounding local areas. This includes printing/reading delivery labels and lists, compiling each order to be delivered on your route, fueling the delivery van, communicating vehicle maintenance needs to management, keeping van clean, cleaning delivery prep area, cleaning delivery totes daily, and other similar tasks.
- After deliveries are completed you’ll help coworkers inside the bakery to finish the day strong - this will include (as needed) bagging bread, washing dishes, sweeping the floors, cleaning delivery totes, taking out trash, and generally helping the other bakers close up for the day with additional tasks as needed. **We will teach a dedicated, hard working applicant all aspects of what needs to be done, experience is not required!**
- Depending on need, you may spend a full workday in the bakery, helping with basic bakery tasks and learning more as you are interested. This can include making different pastes, syrups, prepping almond croissants, slicing bread, egg washing, learning to shape/portion dough, and more.
This job is essential to our growing bakery and we are seeking a person with a strong work ethic who will be on time and at work when scheduled.
WHAT WE PROVIDE:
- We will train the right candidate in all aspects of this position. The position starts at $19/hour with increases as employment continues and performance develops. Full Time, Roughly 30-40 hours per week, Overtime as needed.
- Your projected schedule to start will be Saturday-Wednesday starting at 4:30AM. You will have Thursday and Friday off each week. This is subject to change as needed but we do our best to give everyone two consecutive days off each week and keep your schedule consistent.
