Retail Sales Associate - Backcountry North

Backcountry North in Traverse City is now hiring for Sales Associate positions for both Traverse City locations.

A little about us: Backcountry North was founded in 1978 in downtown Traverse City. We are a fun loving group of like-minded individuals that value our culture, community, the environment and being outdoors. We love Northern Michigan, paddling before work and hiking after. We work hard, play hard, and are passionate about sharing all that we know with those who come in seeking adventure.

Job requirements include - but are not limited to - extensive product training, greeting/engaging with customers, giving detailed sales presentations, preparing merchandise for the sales floor, restocking inventory and performing computer sales transactions. This sales position is available for part-time or full-time, *year-round* employment, with a minimum of three shifts a week. Team members would be scheduled at both store locations, and weekend availability is a must.

Ideal applicants are passionate team-minded individuals who love the outdoors, and are genuinely excited/curious about the outdoor industry. We are seeking individuals who enjoy finding solutions to customer needs, who are not afraid to take initiative, and who have a desire to learn extensively about the technical (and non-technical) aspects of the great products we sell, and the outdoor activities we participate in. Previous sales or outdoor industry experience is a plus.
