Backroad Wellness is a family owned medical cannabis dispensary operated by folks born and raised in Ohio. Our mission is to welcome and educate our local community and give them a fresh choice for their medical cannabis experience. We are opening multiple dispensaries in Ohio in early 2023 and we are looking for passionate talented people to join us on the ground floor and help us build. Position Summary
The Patient Services Associate is responsible for assisting patients by welcoming them into the dispensary, medical cannabis product consultations, and fulfilling patient orders. The primary responsibility of the Patient Services Associate is to provide exceptional service in all actions and interactions and ensure the patient’s needs are met. All work is performed in a manner that amplifies the Mission and Values of Backroad Wellness and creates a uniquely exceptional patient experience.

Provide exceptional patient service
- Greet patients, answer phones, orient patients, and make patients feel welcome.
- Help patients understand and select specific products tailored to meet their needs.
- Listen carefully to patient needs, ask questions to know what products, alternatives, and/or suggestions are appropriate.
- Develop and maintain lasting and impactful professional relationships by making meaningful connections with patients.
- Fulfill orders quickly and with accuracy.
- Achieve the key performance indicators specific to the role.
Ensure accurate inventory and cash management
- Effectively and accurately use the technology required for the position (POS, scanners, etc.).
- Ensure accuracy of the cash drawer.
- Participate in periodic inventory reconciliations.
- Ensure accuracy of inventory by accurately recording transactions in POS.
Support store operations
- Participate in the opening and closing duties of the store.
- Perform all duties in compliance with Company policies and state and local regulations.
- Participate in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the store.
Other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Work is generally performed in a busy dispensary and requires frequent contact and interaction with patients, vendors, and visitors.
- Hours and shifts worked per week are varied and include mornings, nights, afternoons, and weekends. Shifts vary depending on hours of operation and business needs.
- Ability to operate a computer, keyboard, iPad or tablet, receipt printer, and other point of sale equipment.
- Frequent reaching and grabbing.
- Frequent standing and moving for prolonged periods of time
- Occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, using ladders, and moving up to 20 lbs.
Education and Experience
- 1 years of customer service experience in a retail business
- 1 years working in a team-oriented position
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience as a budtender or equivalent (strongly preferred)
Additional Requirements
- Must pass required background checks
- Must be and remain compliant with all legal or company regulations for working in the Ohio cannabis industry
- Must be a minimum of 21 years of age
- Must receive and maintain a current and active medical marijuana support employee license.
