About the role:
The Field Expert (FE) Program Specialist plays a key role in driving Trip Development quality and performance within the Trip Expert (TE) and Regional Field Lead (RL) Programs at Backroads. Trip Experts and Regional Field Leads are essential to delivering high-quality trips worldwide, serving as a critical link between the field and the office.
In this role, you will collaborate with the FE Program Lead and Senior FE Program Manager to enhance the training, communication, systems, and resources that support TE and RL success. You will also oversee key aspects of the FE hiring, onboarding, training, and performance review processes while contributing to the ongoing development of both programs.
This position is ideal for someone who's proactive, organized, and has an interest in program development. This opportunity is well-suited for someone transitioning from the field as it entails the opportunity to travel 3-5 times a year to our hubs for training purposes.
What you’ll be doing:
- Support Training: You’ll assist in developing and updating training materials, agendas, and content for virtual (Workday, Teams) and live (Field Expert Training at BLUE, Quality Summit, Field Coordinator Summit) trainings. Travel 3-5 times per year to support live sessions, potentially in Salt Lake City, Pernes, Tuscany, and the Quality Summit location.
- Manage Communication & Resources: You’ll maintain and update TE and RL Teams Channels and resources. Capture meeting notes and communicate key updates via email, Teams, and newsletters.
- Support Hiring & Onboarding: You’ll assist in FE and RL hiring, onboarding, and system updates to ensure a seamless transition into their roles.
- Monitor Performance & Administer Benefits: You’ll track deliverable completion, support mid-season and end-of-season reviews, and assist in calculating and administering LPF points and travel allowances.
- Enhance Processes & Systems: You’ll work cross-functionally to improve partnership between Scheduling, Data Quality, and Supplier Operations to support timely and thorough deliverable completion.
- Support FE program development through other projects as needed.
What you’ll need to be successful:
- 1 years of experience as TE preferred
- LD mentor experience is preferred
- Strong written & verbal communication skills
- Strong facilitation skills
- Strong leadership, organization, work ethic, time management, and prioritization skills/
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team efficiently.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite’
