Backstage Health has partnered with an exceptional school district in the Santa Maria/Lompoc, CA area to contract a California Credentialed School Nurse for the 2024-2025 school year. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students and their families while working with a supportive team dedicated to improving lives.
Position Highlights:
- Contract Type: 1099 Contractor
- Location: Santa Maria/Lompoc, CA
- Schedule: Full-time for the 2024-2025 school year
- Pay: $80 - $85 per hour
Responsibilities:
- Attend IEP meetings with staff and families to review student health records, provide insights, and offer recommendations to the IEP team.
- Deliver basic healthcare services to students for injuries or acute illnesses.
- Develop and implement health plans for students with chronic illnesses or disabilities.
- Educate students and staff on healthy habits, including nutrition and hygiene.
- Conduct routine health screenings to detect early-stage health issues.
- Maintain and update student vaccination records and medical histories.
- Ensure the school environment complies with safety and health standards, including the prevention of communicable diseases.
- Provide referrals to pediatricians and other health specialists as needed.
Qualifications:
- Current State of California RN License
- Current CA Credentialed School Nurse License or Preliminary Credential
- Current CPR Certification (American Heart Association preferred)
- Strong organizational and communication skills
