Job Title: Shuttle Driver & Maintenance (Saratoga) - Part-time, Seasonal
Supervisor: Saratoga Program Director
Principal Responsibility: The Driver & Maintenance Worker is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of backstretch workers using BEST motor vehicles while also providing maintenance support for BEST facilities and events in Saratoga. This position requires a responsible and safety-conscious individual.
Key Responsibilities:
- Transportation:
- Safely transport backstretch workers in BEST motor vehicles for practical and scheduled medical needs.
- While transporting clients to ER/Urgent Care facilitate the drop off between the Care Manager and the Hospital staff to ensure smooth check-in.
- Pick up clients with flexibility to ensure all tasks are completed: medication pick up etc.
- Adhere to all motor vehicle safety regulations and traffic rules.
- Maintain a clean and organized vehicle interior.
- Maintenance Support:
- Provide maintenance support as needed for BEST facilities or during BEST events.
- Assist in the setup and breakdown of event spaces and equipment.
- Perform minor repairs and maintenance tasks, ensuring safety standards are met.
- Safety and Communication:
- Inform supervisory staff as soon as possible of any safety concerns related to BEST facilities and/or vehicles.
- Maintain clear and effective communication with the Saratoga Program Director and other team members.
- Maintain accurate records for collection of quarterly data, for the DOH.
- Maintain records and due dates for maintenance and upkeep of the vehicle.
- Communicate with NYRA mechanics about van upkeep and maintenance.
Qualifications:
- Possess a current NY State driver's license.
- Demonstrable understanding of motor vehicle safety and traffic requirements and rules.
- Spanish Language a plus
- Experience with providing maintenance support in a safe manner within an organizational environment.
- Excellent customer service skills and a friendly demeanor.
- Capable of working effectively with diverse staff and backstretch workers within a participatory management work environment.
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to safety and maintenance.
Job Types: Part-time, Temporary
Pay: $16.00 - $17.50 per hour
