What are the responsibilities and job description for the Trailer Welder/Fabricator position at Backtrack Trailers?
Description
The aim of the Trailer Welder/Fabricator is to assemble fabricated aluminum parts utilizing a MIG welder and welding techniques in a manner that maximizes the design, quality and performance.
Duties/Expectations:
- Uses MIG welder to weld fabricated steel and aluminum parts to for trailer according to factory specifications and work order
- Set-up and operate welding machines
- Utilize tools and measuring instruments to position and align sub-assemblies, parts and raw materials in jigs or fixtures
- Produces strong penetrated welds that are smooth, non-porous, and consistent
- Grind, file and buff welds to remove slag
Requirements
Must demonstrate proficiency in welding by passing weld test
