Position Overview:
We are seeking a high-performing, detail-oriented Entry-Level Lab Technician to join our team. This role offers the unique opportunity to work closely with experienced scientists, including PhD-level researchers, in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. You will play a key role in supporting both production and R&D efforts, requiring strong organizational skills and the ability to juggle multiple requests from different stakeholders effectively.

Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare lab media and pour agar plates with precision and consistency.
• Perform molecular biology procedures, such as minipreps and entry-level cloning.
• Operate and troubleshoot automated systems for pinning and colony picking.
• Maintain strict compliance with Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) regulations.
• Accurately document protocols and experimental procedures to facilitate team communication.
• Collaborate closely with PhDs and senior scientists to support ongoing projects, responding to their needs with flexibility and urgency.
• Balance and prioritize tasks from production and R&D teams, maintaining open communication with multiple stakeholders.
• Assist with lab maintenance tasks, including inventory organization and supply ordering.
Must-Have Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years hands-on experience in molecular biology techniques. Greater than 8h/week experience in an academic research lab counts towards this experience. If your only lab experience is in laboratory classes, you will not be considered.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• Proven track record of reliability and a willingness to take initiative.
• Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with team members across roles and levels.
• A hunger to learn and a commitment to maintaining high standards of work.
Preferred but Not Required:
• Familiarity with automated laboratory systems.
• Previous experience in media preparation, cloning procedures, or similar tasks.
• Prior experience working with Escherichia coli.
