Job Description : Personal Injury Case Manager

Core Responsibilities
As the Personal Case Manager, the primary responsibilities include :
Responsibilities :
Training new employees
Conducting meetings with your team
Reviewing 5-10 cases from your team weekly
If a member of your team is not meeting expectations, it will be the captain's responsibility to complete the following :
Inform the Department Director
Address the issue
Recommend a solution
Follow up within 30 to 60 days
If there has been no improvement with the employee, inform the Department Director.
Establish Leadership :
Captains must build trust with their team. There needs to be confidence, that the captain is knowledgeable enough to lead the team to success. The captain must want to learn from previous leaders or work to build on the skills that are required for the position, (i.e. a paralegal going to school or a legal assistant learning medical terms). Captains need to believe they are leaders, share their ideas, and listen to others. Most importantly, they need to treat everyone with respect
Set Expectations :
Expectations are the idea of how a task is performed. Captains can build a successful team by making expectations clear. Meet with your team to discuss these standards and execute them
Build relationships :
You want to build a safe environment for your team. Your team should feel comfortable enough to come to you. Meet with your team individually and develop your own special bond. Make sure to listen to their ideas and show them that they are a vital part of the team.
Set Goals
Meet with your team and establish a goal. When coming up with a goal, remember to think SMART. (Specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, and timely)
Example : The team will collectively settle (1) one million dollars in a quarter
