The Payroll Compliance Specialist is responsible for ensuring compliance with regulations in relation to payroll and insurance programs. This role involves meticulous record-keeping, document preparation, and communication with internal and external stakeholders to resolve compliance issues efficiently and professionally.
The salary for this position will be commensurate with education or work experience.
What You Will Be Doing
- Certified Payroll and OCIP Reporting: Processes weekly and monthly Certified Payroll and Owner Controlled Insurance Program (OCIP) reports, maintaining accurate records of all related documents.
- Compliance Documentation: Leads the preparation of specialized compliance documents related to payroll, ensuring all documentation meets regulatory standards.
- Communication Management: Manages and responds promptly to customer and department emails related to payroll compliance, providing clear and accurate information.
- Issue Resolution: Follows up with team members and customers expeditiously and professionally to resolve issues related to the accuracy and completeness of payroll data.
- Document Review: Proofreads documents, contracts, and reports for accuracy, completeness, and compliance, ensuring all materials are error-free and adhere to regulatory requirements.
- Project Support: Provides support on payroll projects, contributing to the successful implementation and management of payroll initiatives.
- Training and Process Development: Develops training materials and processes documents related to certified payroll and prevailing wage, ensuring team members are well-informed and compliant with current regulations.
What We Are Looking For
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. Equivalent work experience may be combined with education to meet the requirements.
- 3-5 years of experience in payroll processing and compliance, with a strong understanding of federal, state, and local payroll laws.
- Proficiency in payroll systems such as ADP, and advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, with strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a customer service orientation.
- Ability to work collaboratively with HR, finance, and other cross-functional teams.
- Flexibility and adaptability to thrive in a dynamic department that responds to evolving regulations and organizational needs.
