Part-Time Grade and Elevation Specialist

Job Description:

Badger Underground Construction, LLC is seeking a Part-Time Grade and Elevation Specialist to support our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in shooting elevations and grades for pipe work and grading projects, ensuring our operators have precise measurements to complete excavation and installation tasks efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

• Use surveying equipment such as laser levels, GPS systems, and grade rods to establish accurate elevations and grades for underground utility projects.
• Read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and project specifications to ensure compliance with design requirements.
• Perform field measurements to determine proper pipe slopes, trench depths, and grading requirements.
• Provide real-time guidance to equipment operators for excavation, backfill, and grading work.
• Maintain accurate records of measurements and site data for reporting and future reference.
• Ensure all work complies with local, state, and federal regulations, including Florida underground utility laws.
• Perform routine calibration and maintenance of surveying equipment.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in grading and elevation measurement for underground utility projects, including pipe installation and grading work.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and technical drawings.
• Proficiency with surveying equipment such as laser levels, GPS systems, and total stations.
• Knowledge of trenching, grading, and pipe installation techniques.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with field crews and operators.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills for maintaining accurate records
• Physical ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform manual tasks as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification in surveying, construction layout, or a related field is preferred but not required.
• Experience with storm drainage, water utilities, and sewer installations is a plus.
